We empower families to create person-centered housing solutions that meet their unique needs of their Loved One. Together, we’ll create a viable and resilient plan for housing and support that addresses the question, “Where will my family member live when I can no longer provide care?”
The Challenge:
- 7.4 million people in the U.S. have some form of intellectual or developmental disability or IDD (e.g. Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy)
- 5.4 million live with family, primarily their parents
- Many of these parents are aging and have few supported housing options available
- Social services systems are siloed and nearly impossible for families to navigate successfully on their own
- Shared living reduces costs and social isolation, but finding compatible roommates is a huge challenge

Partners4Housing was created in 2010 after founder and CEO Pam Blanton realized there had to be a better way for families of individuals with IDD to find roommates and set up Shared Living solutions.
Our comprehensive solution addresses three critical concerns for families of people with I/DD:
- What do they need to live outside our family home?
- Who will they live with?
- How will we afford it?
We help families address these concerns with our:
- Benefits and Housing Review
- Roommate Matching Pool
- Guided support on Shared Living
Partners4Housing has helped families set up 66+ Shared Living homes that serve 134 people with I/DD. We’ve also helped over 3,500+ families access benefits for their Loved Ones through our Benefits And Housing Review.
