Practical guidance. Person-centered planning. Real housing solutions.
At Partners4Housing, we help families navigate one of life’s most complex and emotional journeys: creating a safe, sustainable, and independent home for a Loved One with a disability. Our services are designed to meet families where they are — whether you are just beginning to explore options or actively building a shared living solution.
Every service we offer is grounded in clarity, collaboration, and long-term success. Below is an overview of how we support families, all in one place.
Benefits and Housing Review
Understanding what your Loved One needs to live in their own home
The Benefits and Housing Review is the foundation of successful housing planning. This person-centered assessment is designed for families exploring independent or shared living options for a Loved One with a disability.
Through a structured process that includes answering 126 in-depth questions, families gain clarity around what “home” truly means for their Loved One. The review explores support needs, benefits eligibility, housing preferences, lifestyle goals, and social engagement — all critical elements of long-term housing success.
This review also identifies gaps in benefits and services, helping families understand what may be missing and what steps can be taken to strengthen future housing options. Many families discover that newly identified benefits can offset or exceed the cost of the review itself.
What’s included:
- A comprehensive review of benefits and services eligibility
- Guidance through complex and often disconnected service systems
- A follow-up consultation focused on future housing preparation
- A detailed, printable report for ongoing reference
For Colorado residents, this service is available at no cost through grant funding. Families outside Colorado may purchase the review nationwide.
The Benefits and Housing Review creates a clear, informed starting point — replacing uncertainty with a plan.
Shared Living Development
Turning a housing vision into reality
Once housing goals are clear, Shared Living Development provides the structured support needed to bring that vision to life. This service supports families as they move from planning into implementation, working collaboratively to create a stable shared living household.
We guide families through each step of the process, helping ensure that the home, finances, supports, and agreements are thoughtfully aligned from the beginning. Shared Living Development is comprehensive by design, because long-term success depends on how all elements work together.
This process may include:
- Reviewing Benefits and Housing Reviews and support plans
- Identifying funding sources such as Medicaid services and housing subsidies
- Developing and managing a household budget
- Navigating the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher process
- Identifying and securing appropriate housing
- Supporting communication with landlords
- Creating caregiver job descriptions and caregiver agreements
- Establishing relationships with home healthcare agencies
- Setting up household procedures, rules, and resident documentation
- Developing guardian, landlord, and household operating agreements
Families also receive structured follow-up through our 6-Month Path to Success, which includes three formal reviews over six months. These reviews help ensure agreements remain effective, budgets stay on track, and communication patterns support everyone in the home.
Shared Living Development is intentionally holistic — because housing works best when it’s built to last.
Consulting Services
One-to-one guidance, when you need it
Some families need targeted support rather than a full development process. Our Consulting Services provide flexible, private guidance tailored to your specific housing questions or challenges.
Consulting is available by the hour or through prepaid packages, allowing families to access professional expertise as needed.
Common consulting areas include:
- Navigating the HUD Section 8 application process
- Exploring independent or shared living options
- Guidance on housing strategy and next steps
- Presentations or educational sessions for groups
- Special projects related to housing and benefits
Consulting services are ideal for families who want expert insight without committing to a full program — or who need help overcoming a specific obstacle.
Section 8 Subscription
Support accessing Housing Choice Vouchers nationwide
Section 8 housing can be life-changing — but accessing it is often confusing, inconsistent, and time-sensitive. Our Section 8 support helps families understand where and how to apply, while increasing the likelihood of success.
We maintain up-to-date information on housing authorities with open waitlists across the country and guide families through application requirements. Families also receive instruction on writing effective Reasonable Accommodation requests, helping ensure their Loved One has equal access to housing opportunities.
This service is especially valuable for families navigating multiple housing authorities or applying across state lines.
Shared Living Templates
Tools that support clarity and consistency
Shared living works best when expectations are clearly defined. Our Shared Living Templates provide families with professionally developed documents that support structure, communication, and accountability within the household.
These templates may include household agreements, caregiver documentation, operational guidelines, and other tools designed to reduce misunderstandings and support stability over time.
Templates can be used independently or alongside Shared Living Development services.
Training for Parents
Building confidence through knowledge
We offer individualized training for parents who want to better understand housing systems and advocate effectively for their Loved One. Training focuses on real-world application, not theory — empowering families with skills they can use immediately.
Training topics include:
- Accessing Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers
- Understanding housing authorities and application strategies
- Writing Reasonable Accommodation requests
- Planning proactively for future housing needs
These one-on-one trainings help parents move forward with clarity and confidence, knowing they are equipped to navigate complex systems independently.
